Lake Las Vegas Hotels, Casinos and Attractions
Just 17 miles east of the Las Vegas strip
you'll find an elegant mix of water (that would be the "lake"
in Lake Las Vegas) and mountains. Excellent hotels, spas and
golf - plus plenty of residential options - surround the 320
acre privately-owned lake. With mountainous terrain to both
the north and the south and with the shores of Lake Mead just
a couple miles to the east, this is a truly spectacular location.
.Most everything at Lake Las Vegas was
built with a consistent design theme - to make it all look
like a northern Italian resort town. Not having been to Italy
we can't verify the concept, but we do know that it looks
nothing like what you expect in Las Vegas.
No enormous high-rises, no neon, just a very peaceful place
to relax, play some golf, enjoy the water, and, yes, do some
gambling in one of the two casinos. Not the best place for
those looking for a bargain, with accommodations hosted by
The Ritz-Carlton, Loews Lake Las Vegas (formerly the Hyatt
Regency) and the MonteLago Village Resort.

Lake Las Vegas Attractions
Golf -
Three golf courses - Reflection Bay, The Falls and South Shore
(a private club) - run through the Lake Las Vegas community
and along the lake's shore.
The Lake
- Swimming, fishing, sailing and kayaking are all possible
on the lake and there are several miles of paths around it
for biking and walking.
Lake Meade -
well, Lake Las Vegas is very nice, but this
is a real lake! Lake Meade is a big hub of recreational activity
in this area where Nevada meets Arizona. Without the Hoover
Dam you'd never expect to find so much on-the-water fun in
the middle of the desert.
